Method
1. I pray an evening review prayer.
2. I think back over the day and write down the major events, tasks, feelings, self-will, graces, blessings, and 12 step practices that occurred.
3. I ask the evening review questions and take inventory, make comments, and add corrective measures when warranted.
- I keep it to one page and keep it simple.
- I do equal part inventory and equal part gratitude.
- I avoid remorse, worry, or morbid reflection.
4. I pray my religious prayer.
Evening Prayer
Dear God,
Thank you for this day, thank You for all the good things you have done for me
Thank you for giving me a home to live in, food on my table, and the love of my family.
Thank You for sanity, sobriety, willingness, and for my spiritual awakening which continues to unfold.
Lord, as this day comes to a close I ask that You help me to look back and review the good and the bad. Help me see the times when self will was blocking me from You.
Help me see the blessings that You have given me that I may grow in belief, trust, reliance, and faith.
Help me see what corrective measures I should take that I may grow in understanding and effectiveness and better do Your will.
Amen
